I am currently a student at The University of Ulster, Jordanstown (UUJ), studying Interactive Multimedia Design (IMD). On the IMD website the course is defined as:
" an innovative programme that demands a special type of student and commitment. The aim of this programme is to produce interactive multimedia design professionals who are skilled on three main themes, design, practical multimedia development and technical underpinning. This is an aim that the programme has successfully met for a number of years, while earning the respect of the local multimedia industry."
This course has given me the opportunity to learn many new skills and gain an understanding of many pieces of software within the design industry today. Whether it is the use of image publishing, web-design and animation programs. The IMD course has encouraged me to further my knowledge through self learning and practical tutorials. This has helped me gain good marks in all aspects of the course.
I have also worked in the arts and crafts industry for several years attending shows and exhibitions all over both Northern and Southern Ireland. I have had a keen interest in this as my family have a background in this field with both my parents running their own craft businesses. I have been shown many arts and crafts techniques, from wood-turning to decoupage. These experiences in different methods have changed the way I look at design and can spark great inspiration when working on a new project.
Please feel free to contact me surrounding any queries you may have.

The elements within this logo illustrate Daniel’s excitement and enthusiam that he uses to create inspirational ideas to achieve success in his designs.
The idea behind the ‘DC’ was to create an identity which attributes itself to Daniel’s character. The strongest bond between the two letters is the mirrored curves which help tie these elements together to create a sense of connectivity. The addition of the circle as the stem in the ‘D’ forms the silhouette of a person with their arms in the air. This presents an imaginative use of type to convey how Daniel uses gesticulation to verse his thoughts. This image shows the personal interaction between himself and the logo.
The colour choice for the ‘C’ was a light, sky blue which gives a sense of freshness illustrating Daniel’s stress-free and calm approach to work. In addition, by omitting the stroke on both letters, Daniel conveys a minimalistic contemporary look to his logo.
